Mary Jean "Lily" Tomlin is an actress, comedian, writer & producer that was born in Detroit, Michigan. After college, Tomlin began doing stand-up comedy in nightclubs in Detroit and later in New York City. Her first TV appearance was in 1965 on The Merv Griffin Show. She has won numerous awards from many quarters, including Tony Awards, Emmy Awards and a Grammy Award.
