As you may have guessed, The Lion King is a musical based on the 1994 Disney animated film of the same name. It features actors in animal costumes as well as giant, hollow puppets. The musical debuted right here in Minneapolis back on July 8, 1997 at the Orpheum Theatre & was an instant success. It is now Broadway's seventh longest-running show in history. The Lion King is making it's long-awaited return to the Orpheum Theatre beginning this weekend and will run through February 12.
