Zakk Wylde formed the heavy metal band Black Label Society in 1998 and since then the group has released eight studio albums, one live album, two compilations and one EP. Black Label Society released their latest studio album Order of the Black in August of this year and they're currently on tour promoting it! They'll be performing at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul on Sunday, October 3rd at 8 pm. Originally formed in 1983 in Oklahoma City, the Flaming Lips are known for their space-rock sounding compositions that include bizarre lyrics and song/album titles. Their elaborate live shows feature costumes, balloons, puppets, video projections, complex lighting, confetti, giant hands and even a giant bubble. I was fortunate enough to see The Flaming Lips at the 10,000 Lakes music festival a few years ago and it was one of the coolest shows I've ever seen!
