The Pointer Sisters began their formal vocal training in their father's church in West Oakland, California. They went on to achieve worldwide fame and have secured a permanent place in pop music history as a dynamic female group. Formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1961, the Temptations have been called the most successful group in black history music and have always featured at least five male vocalists/dancers.
