The Suburbs and The Suicide Commandos Tickets First Avenue
The Suburbs and The Suicide Commandos are two punk rock bands that both formed in the 1970s in Minneapolis. The Suicide Commandos formed in 1975 and released two EPs on an indie label before signing with Blank Records in 1977. They released two albums on the Blank Records label before breaking up in 1979. Despite their short 4-year stint together, they were still considered the pioneers of the punk rock music scene in the Twin Cities and influenced bands like The Suburbs, The Replacements and Soul Asylum. The Suburbs formed in 1977 and were popular through the late 1980s. The band released a total of 20 albums on several different record labels. Both bands performed frequently at First Avenue and now they're returning for two reunion shows, with one tonight at 8pm and the other on Saturday night at 6pm.
